OLG Helotes CYO Winter Sports Registration Is Now Open!
Our Lady of Guadalupe (OLG) Helotes CYO is excited to announce that registration for Winter Basketball and Cheer opens Sunday, October 25, 2026!
Registration will remain open through Friday, November 27, 2026. Please review the information below before registering your child.

Registration Fees
Basketball
Cheer – New Cheerleaders or Returning Cheerleaders Needing a New Uniform
Cheer – Returning Cheerleaders Who Do Not Need a New Uniform
During registration, returning cheerleaders who do not need a new uniform must select:
“Check this box only if you do not need a new cheer uniform.”
Selecting this option automatically applies a $100 credit to the registration fee.

Payment Information

Credit card payments only.

Payment must be received by November 27, 2026, for your child to be placed on a team.
Late Registration
Late registration begins Saturday, November 28, 2026, and will remain open only to fill incomplete teams.

The $50 late registration fee will be waived if your child is placed on a team that has not reached the minimum roster size.

The $50 late registration fee will apply if your child is added to a team that already meets or exceeds the minimum roster size.
During Registration
Please be prepared to:

Select your athlete's jersey and shorts sizes.

Provide up to three preferred jersey numbers in order of preference. Do not enter the same number more than once.

Returning players may keep last season's jersey number whenever possible.

Attend a uniform fitting.

Important: Extra uniforms will not be ordered.
Team Placement

Returning players who register after November 27 are not guaranteed placement on their previous team.

Requests for specific coaches or teammates cannot be accommodated, including requests from new CYO participants.

Teams are formed without consideration of parent, player, or coach requests.

Players are assigned to the appropriate division based on their date of birth and applicable CYO age requirements.
Registration Requirements
Participants must meet one of the following requirements:

Be registered parishioners of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, or
-
Reside within the Our Lady of Guadalupe–Helotes parish boundaries.

New CYO Families
New families must provide the following documents at the beginning of the season:

Proof of residence, such as a utility bill, parish envelope, or similar documentation
Season Information
Basketball & Cheer Practices

Practices may begin November 30, 2026, or later, after teams have been finalized.

Practices are generally held Monday–Thursday between 6:30 PM and 8:30 PM.

Practice schedules depend on each head coach's availability.

Practice times are subject to change.
Practice Locations:
Northside ISD elementary gyms or other nearby gym facilities, as available.

Who coaches the teams?
OLG CYO is a volunteer-based program. Many parents serve as head and assistant coaches, teaching the fundamentals of each sport while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and faith.
How long do games last?
Approximately one hour.

Games are played at participating parishes throughout the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
Game schedules will be released approximately one week before Opening Weekend.

Parent Volunteer Requirement
All families are required to volunteer for gate and/or concession duty once per season for each child participating in CYO.
